working at a grocer one halloween in my teens. this woman comes in wringing her hands and saying: those poor kids. if ONLY they knew what they were celebrating!
i looked at her and said: well ma'am, it seems to me that if they dont know what they're celebrating, then they're not really celebrating it, now are they?
stopped her right in her tracks. she said no i guess they arent and walked away
