Open minded people do not seek to be right, they seek to understand. They see things from many perspectives, so they have a need to understand other's opinions. They need to know how and why these opinions were formed. I see this as a sign of intelligence. They invite voices of reason into their thoughts and will always continue learn, strengthening their minds. The closed minded lack this level of intelligence because their need to be right cripples their mind by stunting its growth.
