She's closed another bottle tonight. Between the others it looks almost shy. Pale red liquid, translucent but moving about in tired swirls. Not quite a lava lamp but a bottled up feeling. "Regret" she writes in tiny letters on the etiquette. She turns the flask around on the crowded shelf.

He doesn't venture outside very often. The silence speaks to him and draws a pattern on his back. Silvery, genuine - a blanket of words. Walls around him, reflection, it's enough. Sometimes he sings. Dust collects on the unmoving, eyes wide open, watching shadows dance.
