Time and our perception of it is relative. When we were one year old, a year lasted a lifetime, at two, only half a lifetime, and so on. At 10, only 10%; at 20, only 5%; at 50, a year is only 2% of our life experience, and so only a brief, fleeting moment in our life. A year does last the same amount of time, but not our perception of it.
